The winning project of the open all-Ukrainian architectural competition will be announced in less than 2 weeks

In less than 2 weeks, the winning project of the open all-Ukrainian architectural competition for the construction of a residential and recreational quarter in the area of Shchurata Street will be announced. The jury, which included professional national experts, architects, scientists, representatives of local authorities and the community, will consider the submitted proposals at a meeting on June 16-18. After the review, they plan to show the works of all participants for public viewing.

The uniqueness of the competition is that it is one of the first architectural competitions that precedes the construction of a residential complex. Prior to that, such practices were applied to public and social facilities.

This approach will make it possible to attract project proposals as much as possible before the start of construction, and not during the process or after it. Openness and transparency will contribute to the fact that all the needs of the district, infrastructure and planning will be taken into account in advance and focused on the needs and comfort of residents.

The clients of the competition, in addition to the developer, were the Department of Architecture and Urbanism of the Department of Urban Planning of the Lviv City Council and the Lviv Regional Organization of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine.

“Immediately after its announcement, the competition gained considerable attention and public discussion, and the geography of the participants covered the entire country. After the first deadline (April 16), it was decided to extend the deadline for accepting applications and providing results, as the flow of applications from architects did not stop. It is worth noting that the interest of the participants was fueled not only by the opportunity to become winners and to see the idea embodied in reality, but also by the fairly decent fee offered by the Customer (total prize fund: 1 million hryvnias, the competition provides for 3 prize places and 2 incentive places)” – comments Yuriy Skolozdra, head of the DELTA Ukraine project.

The land plot for which the competition is held is located in the northern part of Lviv, and according to the detailed plan of the territory and city strategy, the designated land will be actively developed and developed, and will become a new full-fledged district.

According to the technical specifications of the competition, about 66,000 m² of living space, 4,200 m² of commercial premises, public spaces, sports and children’s playgrounds are provided. The average height of the buildings will be 6 floors (the height of individual buildings will be determined by the winning project of the competition).
