Dense construction, reduction of green spaces and increase in average annual temperature make big cities uncomfortable for living in summer due to heat.
“The problem of the “concrete-asphalt” city, or the “urban heat island effect” has long been noticed and studied in the West. The increased temperature of the urban environment really negatively affects human health and quality of life, and also leads to increased costs for cooling overheated office, residential and public buildings,” comments Maksym Zayka, DELTA Ukraine project manager for green certification LEED, BREEAM, DGNB .
Numerous studies prove that the use of facade landscaping elements has a positive effect not only on the environment, but also on the indoor climate, additionally creating an energy-saving effect.
