Opening of the updated nephrology and dialysis department at OKHMADYT
05. May 2025
On April 23, a newly renovated nephrology and dialysis department was officially opened at the National Specialized Children’s Hospital “Okhmatdyt” in Kyiv. The toxicology department was among the most heavily damaged during the russian missile attack on July 8, 2024. The new facility significantly enhances the hospital’s ability to treat children suffering from chronic and acute intoxications.
DELTA Ukraine implemented this project in cooperation with GIZ Ukraine, a valued partner for more than a decade. The project was funded by the German government as a part of the broader effort to restore and modernize critical medical infrastructure affected by the attack.
What was done by our team:
- Dismantling and installation of partitions to optimize space
- Installation of autonomous air conditioning and ventilation systems
- Installation of a local drainage system for hemodialysis equipment
- Modernization of the power supply using energy-efficient equipment
- Installation of fire alarm and video surveillance systems
- Wall finishing with modern materials
This is not just about the design — the new space ensures functionality, safety, and care for the youngest patients. Rebuilding healthcare infrastructure means creating conditions where Ukrainian children can receive high quality treatment in a safe and modern environment — today, not tomorrow.
