Reconstruction of the 14th Floor of the Internal Haematology and Oncology Clinic, University Hospital Brno (Brno, Czech Republic). The reconstruction of the 14th floor of the Internal Haematology and Oncology Clinic at University Hospital Brno represents a comprehensive modernisation of one of the most demanding clinical facilities in the Czech Republic. The project delivered a fundamental transformation of the inpatient ward — including the intensive care unit and transplantation beds — in an environment where the highest standards of hygiene, technical reliability, and comfort for both patients and medical staff are essential. The result is a modern, fully functional and safe workplace that meets the demands of contemporary medicine, co-financed under the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility.

Project Highlights
- Two-phase delivery: The project was deliberately divided into two construction phases to minimise disruption to the highly specialised clinical operations of the ward throughout the works
- Ward capacity: The reconstructed department comprises 5 intensive care beds, 5 transplantation beds and 43 standard inpatient beds
- Unique construction method: Concrete supply to the 14th floor was achieved using specialist pumping equipment routed through window openings — an exceptionally demanding technical solution dictated by the nature of the building
- Highest operational standards: The intensive care and transplantation areas required stringent building and technical standards, including specific requirements for HVAC systems, hygiene and environmental safety
- EU co-financing: The project was implemented with support from the National Recovery Plan (Recovery and Resilience Facility, EU)
- Official opening: The reconstructed facility was officially inaugurated on 23 March 2026, in the presence of University Hospital Brno management and project partners
