Review: DELTA Lab at the Tabakfabrik Linz: How partnership leads to project success
12. March 2026
Last week, we had the pleasure of inviting guests to the DELTA Lab in the NOVA ZONE of the Tabakfabrik Linz for an evening full of exchange, practical examples, and exciting discussions. We can look back on a successful event—centered around the question: How can projects succeed through genuine partnership?
After a relaxed get-together, the program began with a keynote speech by Doris Schmidtberger and Hildegard Utermoehlen (experts in social design in building projects at DELTA), who provided insight into where we stand today with cooperative project models such as ECI, IPD, and others. It became clear that construction projects are becoming increasingly complex – and that is precisely why transparent cooperation, joint goal definition, and early involvement of all stakeholders are becoming increasingly important.
A particular highlight was the presentation of the Bern.Dorf project by Ditia Edalati, Andreas Dopplmair, and Martina Kapsammer. The project demonstrated how early contractor involvement (ECI) can lead to greater planning reliability, better cost control, and significantly smoother implementation even in the early planning stages.
This was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Wolfgang Kradischnig (CEO, DELTA Group) with perspectives from Planning, Construction, and Project Development:
- Ditia Edalati | Bern.Dorf
- Martina Kapsammer | CMb.industries
- Andreas Dopplmair | DELTA
- Stefan Graf | Leyrer + Graf Baugesellschaft m.b.H.
- Thomas Wolf | Delta Pods Architects
- Doris Schmidtberger | DELTA
What was particularly exciting was that the discussion was largely driven by the audience. Instead of traditional moderator questions, numerous ideas came directly from the guests—a sign of how great the interest is in new forms of collaboration in construction projects.
The evening demonstrated once again that
partnership is not just a buzzword; it is a decisive factor for the success of sustainable construction projects.
Many thanks to all the speakers, panelists, and guests for the open exchange and inspiring discussions!
