DELTA sustainability
The entire DELTA management team has internalised this vision and acts in the knowledge that sustainable and exemplary external action is only possible through a strong corporate culture (“grow internally, act externally”).
The Group as a whole is continuously working on transforming the construction and property industry towards sustainable business practices (environmental, social, governance).
Back in 2011, many years before the EU Green Deal, an important emphasis was placed on a holistic view of buildings both within the DELTA Group with the DELTA sustainability division and in the construction and property industry as a whole by initiating and co-founding “IG Lebenszyklus Bau” (Industry Association Life Cycle Construction) – moving away from a sole focus on construction towards a view of the entire property life cycle. IG Lebenszyklus Bau has been active as a non-profit association since 2012 and now has more than 90 member companies, bringing together representatives from all sectors involved in the life cycle of building and property developments. The entire DELTA Group is now a key pioneer for more sustainable buildings with its “Green Mission” and the “Integral Consultancy” consulting division.
DELTA is active in the industry as a cooperative group of companies in several innovation partnerships in the areas of circular economy and AI support in the construction planning process. One example is the partnership in the “Digital Findet Stadt” (Digital Finds City) innovation lab for the construction and property industry.
In the almost 50 years of its existence, the DELTA Group has become a vital, adaptable organism that is characterised by a high degree of diversity and can therefore balance out individual order declines or economic fluctuations in countries. This is due to the range of services in the overarching areas of architecture, construction management and consulting, the various industries, the customer segments in the private and public sectors, the locations in currently four countries and the pool of 400 employees with diverse expertise who can be deployed in projects across national borders.
The association’s main area of activity is Central Europe. The focus is on Austria and the development markets of the East (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine and countries in South-East Europe, Eurasia and the Middle East with partners).
The DELTA Group is growing through company acquisitions in order to complement its services in a meaningful way. Another aspect of growth is the fact that the group is an economically stable, reliable partner for international donors (GIZ, EIB, UN, etc.).
The DELTA Group as a whole currently employs around 400 people in four countries, with women making up over 40% of the workforce across the entire group – and this in an industry that is still dominated by men.
Talent Recruiting & Management: The “Human Potentials & Culture” area includes, in particular, the DELTA Academy with training and further education for employees, a sophisticated health promotion programme (for mental and physical health), but also activities such as a mentor/mentee programme for new colleagues in the team.
