Expansion of the Innsbruck Fire Department: DELTA provides expertise for extension and new construction

The Innsbruck Fire Department received a functional and architecturally modern extension to its premises: two new buildings—a three-story extension and a single-story vehicle hall with an attached helipad—will complement the main fire station complex in the future. Both buildings are located to the west of the existing structure and are connected by a covered walkway.

DELTA supported this highly specialized project on behalf of IIG Innsbrucker Immobilien Gesellschaft with project monitoring & control. Particular attention was paid to the ongoing use of the property: The main fire station is staffed around the clock and remained fully operational during the construction work.

The new vehicle hall will be used exclusively for emergency vehicles, while the extension will house various rooms for the fire department and visitors on approximately 850 m². The hall itself measures around 400 m². In terms of design, both buildings are characterized by a combination of generous glazing and insulated sheet metal panels – a clear commitment to modern functionality and transparency.

With completion scheduled for Q1/2025, the Innsbruck professional fire department is taking an important step toward the future – efficiently, functionally, and sustainably planned.
