Groundbreaking ceremony for the Promenadengeviert Linz

The groundbreaking ceremony marked the official start of the comprehensive renovation and redesign of the Landestheater on the Linzer Promenade. DELTA is proud to be providing construction supervision (ÖBA) in a consortium with Neumayer Projektmanagement GmbH and Delta Pods Architects for this significant construction project.

Over the next three years, a forward-looking theater complex will be built in the heart of Linz, combining restoration in line with heritage requirements, modern architecture, and sustainable building technology. At the heart of the project is the careful renovation of the traditional Redoutensäle in close consultation with the Federal Monuments Office. At the same time, two new event halls and a spacious terrace will be built in the inner courtyard. The renderings (see images) give an impression of what this will look like.

Special features of the project:

• Construction work while the theater remains open – a challenging undertaking in terms of organization and logistics.
• Archaeological excavations with the possibility of finding Roman relics in the area of the former Lentia fort.
• Focus on energy efficiency: heat pump solution using waste heat from the promenade garage, LED technology, digital heating control, and preparation for a PV system.
