Opening: Campus Krems extension
12. June 2024
The extension to the Krems campus was opened on 3 June 2024. A total of 23 laboratory rooms, 140 offices and 14 seminar rooms have been created for three universities (University for Continuing Education Krems – IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences – Karl Landsteiner Private University for Health Sciences). INGOB.DELTA was responsible for project management from 2018, starting with the feasibility study, until May 2024. Martin Lechner, Jasmine Lutzer and Thomas Gruber attended the opening on behalf of the project team.
The new building complex consists of four buildings. The centrepiece is the large entrance area, which extends over three buildings and also serves as a link between the buildings. The new building was constructed using state-of-the-art technology and energy efficiency. Energy is primarily supplied by a heat pump. The heat from the exhaust air is also recovered. To prevent the building from overheating in summer, concrete core activation was used to cool the building, among other measures. There are 459 photovoltaic panels with an area of 850 m2on the roof.
As proof of its sustainability, the building has been awarded klimaaktiv certification with the Gold standard (1000 out of 1000 points).
A future-orientated building with the highest standards of sustainability, of which our project management team is rightly very proud.
