Opening: Wolkersdorf neighborhood with new parish center premises as a lighthouse project for the church and community

On January 12, Cardinal Christoph Schönborn celebrated a festive mass to mark the opening of the new “Wolkersdorf Quarter”. The renovation and new construction work at the parish center began in the fall of 2023. With an investment volume of over 10 million euros, a modern event center was created. The joint project of the parish and the city, with DELTA as project manager, was completed on schedule and even under budget. The klimaaktiv Gold Standard was achieved.

Martin Lechner and Thomas Gruber represented DELTA at the event. Also in attendance were Kurt Hackl (member of the state parliament), Mayor Dominic Litzka, the building’s two architects (Jesus Lopez and Magnus Deubner), parish priest Leopold Mathias and many other guests of honor.

We would like to thank the Archdiocese of Vienna and the municipality of Wolkersdorf in the Weinviertel for their outstanding cooperation, and we hope everybody enjoys this cultural meeting place. Sustainability was a key focus of the project: thermal renovation and modern event technology make the district fit for the future. It offers space for up to 392 people of all generations and ideally combines religious and cultural needs.
