Special Features

The challenging aspect of this project was the ambitious construction period. The good and constructive cooperation with the client’s representative as well as with the planning department and all the contractors should be emphasised in particular. This was the only way we were able to realise this construction project in such a short time.

Description

In the existing building of the Lower Austrian state government, the existing company kindergarten was extended by 3 toddler groups including outdoor facilities on 2 floors.

The existing areas were completely gutted (incl. building services), upgraded in terms of fire protection and completely rebuilt. A new staircase was created for internal access to the kindergarten by partially removing the existing ceiling and installing a steel staircase. Building physics improvements were also carried out by adapting and partially rebuilding the existing façade.

In addition to the kindergarten conversion, the existing garden access to the kindergarten, which was in operation during the conversion, was adapted. An existing staircase was removed and extended with a steel bridge and a metal slide. In the existing garden, the existing terrace area was enlarged and a sand pit including a sun sail was created.
