Use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the DELTA Group

For more than a year now, an interdisciplinary task force – spanning all DELTA divisions – has been working on the topic of “Artificial intelligence in the construction and property industry”. In addition, last year Wolfgang Kradischnig, together with the Managing Director of Digital Findet Stadt, Steffen Robbi, led a working group as part of IG Lebenszyklus Bau, which published a corresponding guideline on AI in the construction and real estate industry in autumn 2024. The DELTA Group is currently integrating advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in various business areas in order to increase efficiency, precision and innovation. The use of AI ranges from general office support to consulting, valuation and design, and offers significant advantages for customers in project management and strategic decision-making in particular.

AI in consulting:

In the consulting sector, DELTA Gruppe uses AI to create technical due diligence (TDD) reports. This technology makes it possible to efficiently analyse and process complex and large amounts of data and can precisely summarise the relevant points in advance, which improves the accuracy and quality of the reports and speeds up decision-making processes. In addition, an AI-supported tool is used to determine CAPEX costs, which enables investment costs and masses to be determined more precisely and risks to be better assessed. AI is also used in the area of valuation. By using advanced algorithms, for example, costs for new construction valuations (local new construction value) can be determined more accurately and quickly, the valuation method for properties and other assets is more efficient and the valuations are more reliable in terms of costs. Another innovative example of the use of AI is a 3D scanning tool currently being developed for the consulting sector, which is already being used in pilot projects. It uses AI to generate parametric 3D models from 3D scans, which enable objects to be precisely recorded and building conditions to be analysed. This tool is revolutionising the traditional methods of reporting through automation, deep learning options, precise localisation in 3D and increased accuracy.

AI in the design team of Delta Pods Architects

The design team at Delta Pods Architects (architecture division of the DELTA Group) uses AI as early as the development phase of projects to create and visualise design variants. By using AI, different design options can be generated and visualised quickly, which helps both planners and clients to make informed decisions and compare different design options more easily. This not only promotes creativity in the design process, but also makes it possible to fulfil customer wishes more precisely and efficiently.

Statement on plans for the further use of AI in the DELTA Group:

Wolfgang Kradischnig (CEO): “For us at DELTA, it is crucial not only to make the possibilities and benefits of AI applications available to individual team members, but also to take the entire DELTA team on the “AI journey” and thus offer our customers advantages in all services.”
