Vltava Philharmonic Receives Positive EIA Approval
03. February 2026
The Vltava Philharmonic in Prague reached a major milestone in December 2025 by receiving a positive and binding Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). This approval confirms the project’s environmental and public health compatibility and represents a crucial step in the overall permitting process.
As lead partner for project management within the DELTA–JEG–FEM consortium, DELTA Group is responsible for the strategic coordination and management of this internationally significant cultural project. Together with BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group as architect and AFRY as general designer, the complex EIA process was successfully completed.
The assessment covered not only the building itself, but also transport infrastructure, public spaces, climate impact, noise, water management and biodiversity, addressing both construction and future operation. The 22 binding conditions defined in the EIA approval are now being systematically integrated into the next planning and permitting phases.
For DELTA, this project section underlines the value of integrated project management, interdisciplinary coordination and sustainable planning in complex large-scale projects. The focus now shifts to the preparation of permitting documentation and the next stage of project development.
A vibrant cultural hub is taking shape: a 24/7/365 programme – from symphonic concerts and rock to family events in the children’s hall. A place on the riverfront where all generations will come together.
