Construction Site Update from Linz: The new ÖBB service hall is taking shape
05. October 2026
Work is progressing on the extensive construction site at the former traction facility on Heizhausstraße. A new service hall covering around 11,000 m² is being built here, with space for the latest generation of trains.
As more trades become involved in the project, our DELTA team – consisting of Thomas Hörtenhuber, Raffael Ehrengruber and Antonia Mayerhofer – is increasingly active on site. The focus of the local construction supervision is on quality, costs and deadlines. We are working to a very ambitious schedule that requires rapid completion.
The unexploded ordnance survey has been completed. Old reinforced concrete foundations discovered during the earthworks are being processed and reused in the new floor structures. The next step is to make the hall weather-tight with the roof and façade, before moving on to the interior fit-out, work on the mechanical systems and preparations for track construction.
DELTA is supporting the project with construction supervision for building works, building services, electrical engineering, railway construction and mechanical systems.
